We support individuals living with mental health challenges to achieve outcomes they value.
We're big believers in everyone having the opportunity to live a full life - and we give our all to support people to achieve the wellbeing and mental health outcomes that matter to them.
For some people this means having a stronger sense of self. For others, it might mean nurturing relationships, and for others, it could be building the confidence to tackle tomorrow. Everyone has different goals for their own life, and at Neami, we walk alongside people to help improve their quality of life, on their terms.
We are proud to support 32,000 people living with mental health challenges across Australia and offer more than 70 services, over 49 different Indigenous lands, across the nation. These include mental health and wellbeing supports, housing and suicide prevention services.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Neami’s Safe and Secure Accommodation Program (SSAP) provides culturally appropriate, outreach and case management support to women and children in crisis accommodation due to domestic or family violence. The service works with women and children to transition from insecure housing to secure housing depending on their needs, including private rental market, social housing or to return home where appropriate. The program is funded by the Department of Human Services, through Safer Family Services, and will work with specialist domestic and family violence services to achieve project objectives. Safer Family Services supports children and families to ensure everyone is safe and well at home, in family, community and culture.
Community Rehabilitation and Support Workers (CRSW) provide a range of rehabilitation and support to consumers, tailored to meet their individual needs. Neami National's work with consumers occurs within their own community of friends, family, and neighbourhood.
You will work closely with domestic violence case managers and other community partner organisations to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers. CRSW at Neami National function within a collaborative team approach and are supported by regular opportunities to reflect upon their practice and access comprehensive training and development.
