Overview of the position:

As a Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker you will provide tailored support to young people experiencing mental health issues to meet their individual goals and needs.

CRSWs will have the capacity to work with individuals as well as groups promoting individual strengths, choice and empowerment. CRSWs will work collaboratively with consumers and their own community of friends, family and neighbourhood to encourage and support independence and increase skills and capacity. You will work closely with clinical case managers and other community partner organisations in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to young consumers.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Provide appropriate support to young people with managing their mental health including assessing risk and developing management plans
  • Assist consumers to participate in recreation activities and the cultural life of the community by supporting them to develop interpersonal skills
  • Provide direct practical support to consumers so that they gain/maintain independent living skills. This includes assistance by sharing skills in cooking, nutrition, personal care, budgeting skills, shopping, maintaining the home, utilising public transport
  • Together with the consumer regularly monitor their progress towards their identified goals
  • Work within a holistic framework taking into account the needs of consumers, family, carers and other members of the community in order to ensure tangible rehabilitation outcomes

Mandatory role requirements:

  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (have received three doses), (or have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their third dose)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National
  • National Criminal History Check (Police check) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Current Working with Children Check required before commencement of work
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Australian Working Rights
