About the Joondalup Mental Health Sub-acute Service

The Joondalup Mental Health Sub-acute Service (JMHSS) is a 22 bed sub-acute facility that provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or are still recovering from an acute illness and need a short period of additional support and consolidation to complement their treatment and support. The JMHSS aims to prevent avoidable inpatient admissions. During their stay consumers are assisted to develop a relapse prevention or wellness plan. The JMHSS is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

  • Above award salary $37.35 plus casual loading of 25%

As an Allied Health Worker you will:

  • Background in Occupational Therapy and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary recovery-focused team providing high quality support services to consumers at the JMHSS.
  • Strong emphasis is placed on preparing the consumer to transition home where work will focus on re-establishing independent living skills assisting the consumer to reconnect with their community and engage with supports
  • Gain valuable experience working within a recovery model of service delivery in a supportive team environment
  • Requires current registration with AHPRA. Relevant clinical experience working within a rehabilitation/recovery setting is desirable. Neami will make provision for external clinical supervision to be provided to assist with maintaining registration requirements
  • At all times maintain annual registration requirements with AHPRA including registration standards and continuing professional development (CPD
