Position Details

• 2X Full Time or Part Time Maximum Term Positions until 30 April 2026
• Classification: SCHADS Level 3 with a salary range of $73,883 - $79,218 per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation
• Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
• Location: South Morang, Whittlesea, VIC

About your new role

This role has been made available through the Victorian Governments Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals Graduate and Early Career Program. This Lived Experience Peer Worker role provides the opportunity to commence an early career within Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Services. This position represents a unique pathway into the mental health sector and will provide an opportunity for those with diverse skills and backgrounds to begin their mental health workforce journey. This role includes the unique opportunity to experience various stages of a consumers journey with rotational opportunities.

What you will bring to the role

• Personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or situational distress and journey of wellbeing/healing and ability to intentionally use these learnings to purposefully support others.
• Understanding of Lived Experience (Peer) principles and the Consumer/Carer movements to ground practice in collective knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining respectful and purposeful relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including computer competency.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to complex or competing tasks in a timely way.
• Completion or near completion Cert IV qualification in Lived Experience (Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work).

Desirable

• Experience in a designated Lived Experience role
• Experience working in the mental health sector

• National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
• Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
• Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car
• Australian working rights
