- Classification: SCHADS Level 5 with a salary range of $93,959 - $98,207 per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation

About your new role
The Victorian Peer Cadet Program Coordinator leads the implementation of the Peer Cadet Program, including recruiting Peer Cadets, supporting Peer Mentors, and holding practical responsibility for the day to day running of the program.
The Peer Cadet Program Coordinator will model Lived Experience leadership and ways of working to Peer Cadets, Peer Mentors and Program Stakeholders by applying the Lived Experience lens into all aspects of the role.
Drawing on the National Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce Guidelines, the Lived Experience lens is:
- Learnings from personal experience of mental health challenges, distress, and periods of healing, which may include service use
- Collective knowledge of universal lived experiences such as stigma, marginalisation, loss of power, and system hurt, as well as hope, healing, and personal recovery as real
- Professional principles and values such as mutuality, intersectionality, autonomy, hope, and sharing power
- And the history of the Consumer movement, advocacy, and actions
- The Peer Cadet Coordinator will need to have strong administration and project coordination skills to support evaluation and reporting, managing of resources, sector collaboration, and service development.
What you will bring to the role
- Personal experience of mental health challenges, service use, periods of healing/personal recovery and demonstrated ability to apply learnings from this as primary knowledge.
- Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
- Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery
- Understanding of Lived Experience (Peer) Principles, LE lens and Consumer movement to ground practice in collective knowledge.
- A demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships in partnership with a range of stakeholders, networking and mutual problem solving.
- Experience with project management, coordination, and high-quality administration
- Sound knowledge of discipline specific supervision, coaching, and mentoring skills, and/or preparedness to undertake relevant training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to give clear directions to others
- Adherence with all relevant state mandated credentialing and checks i.e. WWCC
