An exciting new position is available at the Zillmere Community Centre.
We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate community engagement and social inclusion activities for a diverse range of people including those experiencing disadvantage.
North East Community Support Group Inc (NECSG) is a non-profit community-based organisation in Zillmere auspicing three service programs: Zillmere Community Centre, Zillmere Family Accommodation Program and Zillmere Young People's Support Service. Our mission is to provide quality community support programs in line with changing needs and services targeted to alleviate poverty, homelessness, distress, isolation and unemployment.
Zillmere Community Centre provides individual and community support to people living in Zillmere and surrounding suburbs and offers a place of welcome, acceptance and inclusion for all. Community members can access information and advice, a range of practical support, group activities and meeting spaces at the Zillmere Community Centre.
The Community Engagement Officer is a key role in the Zillmere Community Centre team. In this position you will be working in a small, multi-disciplinary team providing support and connection to the local community. You will also work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate community engagement and social inclusion activities for community members including those experiencing disadvantage and vulnerabilities.
In this role you will also support the wider team with delivery of events, projects and resources whilst also actively contributing to a positive and professional team environment.
The Community Engagement Officer position is a permanent part-time position, 18 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday) from 8.30am - 3pm *inc. 30-minute lunch break. The position is paid at the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services award level 4 with salary sacrifice available. The Community Engagement role will report to the Centre Manager and work collaboratively and supportively with other staff and volunteers of the Zillmere Community Centre team.
