North East Community Support Group Inc (NECSG) is a non-profit community-based organisation based in Zillmere. NECSG auspices Zillmere Community Centre, Zillmere Family Accomodation Program and Zillmere Young People's Support Service. Our mission is to equip and empower our community to thrive through connections, capacity building and access to services.

Zillmere Community Centre provides individual and community support to people living in Zillmere and surrounding suburbs and is a place of welcome, acceptance and inclusion for all. Community members can access information and advice, services, practical support, opportunities for learning and social connections.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Community Engagement Officer is a key member of the Zillmere Community Centre team. In this position you will work in a small, multi-disciplinary team utilising your community development skills and experience to support, connect and empower our local community. In this role you will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate community engagement and social inclusion activities for community members including those experiencing disadvantage and vulnerabilities. This position also provides support to the wider team with delivery of events, projects and resources whilst actively contributing to a positive and professional team environment.

The Community Engagement Officer position is a permanent part-time position, 18 hours per week (preference Tuesday to Thursday) from 8.30am - 3pm *inc. 30 minute lunch break. The position is paid at the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services award level 5 with salary sacrifice available. The Community Engagement Officer will report to the Centre Manager and work in a collaborative and supportive manner with other staff, students and volunteers of the Zillmere Community Centre.
