ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

The National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters' Council (NEMBC) champions diverse voices in Australia's community media sector, advocating for policy change, education, and partnerships to strengthen the sector. As we expand our reach and impact, we are evolving to better support multicultural media creators and broadcasters across all platforms - radio, digital, and print - ensuring their voices connect and empower communities across Australia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Membership & Engagement Coordinator to drive membership growth, retention, and engagement. This role is key to strengthening our connection with multicultural communities, ensuring our members receive valuable support while aligning with our broader strategic goals.

Working closely with the General Manager and internal team, you will lead engagement strategies, coordinate key events, and enhance communication efforts to grow and sustain our membership base.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the end-to-end membership lifecycle, including processing new applications, renewals, and supporting member enquiries.
  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives to foster a vibrant community of members, such as networking events, training programs, and online forums.
  • Maintain accurate member records and generate reports to track membership metrics and trends.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of the organisation's annual conference and other key events.
  • Support the broader marketing and communications activities of the organisation.
  • Assist with the active engagement of the Women's Committee and Youth Committee.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for something with:

  • Experience in a membership and engagement role, preferably within a membership-based organisation in the not-for-profit or media/broadcasting sectors (sector experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Qualifications in business administration, communications, community development, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and data management practices.
  • A passion for amplifying the voices of multicultural communities through media.

SALARY & START

Salary: SCHADS SACS Level 4 (commensurate with experience).

Immediate start available for the right candidate.
