ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Court Network Volunteers provide non-legal information and support to stand beside and empower Court Users before and during court.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the Cultural Awareness Project in the Dandenong Community, with the aim of providing a culturally inclusive support service for service users of the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court. The main objective of this project is to empower the families and friends of multicultural service users to better participate in court processes and support and educate court users.

Role is based in our Melbourne Head Office with opportunity to negotiate a hybrid model of WFH and office. Project consultation and work in the Dandenong community and court. This position may be required to travel in Victoria.

The Diversity and Inclusion Project Manager position is a 0.8 FTE, 12-month position.

The position is classified as level 6 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. project management, community development, social sciences).
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in community-based projects or initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cultural diversity and the challenges faced by multicultural communities.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyse data to inform project decisions and resource development.
  • Knowledge of court processes is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training programs to build the capacity of volunteers is desirable.
  • Experienced in project management knowledge, skills, and tools.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with community organisations, volunteers, court staff, and court users.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel and project management tools.
  • Satisfactory National Police and Working with Children Checks.
  • Proof of the right to work in Australia.
