About SILC

The purpose of Supporting Independent Living Co-operative (SILC) is to create long-term sustainable, family governed homes for people with disabilities using funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The SILC family-governed model assumes that families want to stay connected to their children or siblings and be actively involved in their lives and the types of activities, employment and ongoing supports they need to flourish.

About the Role

The CEO role is the Senior Leadership role for SILC, key outcomes of CEO role include:

  • Optimum use of organisational resources to achieve strategic goals
  • Recruitment, development and engagement of the Executive Team
  • Financial success of the organisation
  • Ensuring external stakeholders and decision makers hear SILC’s voice
  • Providing family, employee and volunteer support
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Building sustainability and future capacity of the organisation
  • Strengthening the reputation and brand of SILC.

About You

You will have senior leadership experience within a not-for profit, SIL, NDIS, or community support organisation and live a commutable distance from the CBD where the offices are located. You will also need achievements in implementing strategic plans, engaging stakeholders and financial management and leading a diverse organisation.

SILC provides the systems, policies and dedicated operations support to assist our cooperatives which are operated by families for people with disability to structure the supports they would like for their family member in their homes. Our new CEO will be a respected, inspiring and innovative leader who embraces our values and demonstrates exceptional communication skills in all forums and environments.
