About Carringbush

Carringbush has been delivering outreach education and pathways programs since 1984. We specialise in supporting people with low levels of English language, literacy and numeracy, and those who face significant barriers to participating in further education and employment.

About the Role

The Community Development Manager plays a key role in overseeing and driving Carringbush’s community programs. The role involves designing, funding, and delivering impactful initiatives in collaboration with participants, staff, volunteers, and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering community projects focused on education, capacity building, and employment pathways.
  • Securing and managing grants, including applications, reporting, and acquittals.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with service providers, education organisations, and industry.
  • Managing funding relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Supporting and coordinating staff, volunteers, and program promotion.

About You

You will have experience in community development, program management, or community services, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation.

Living within a commutable distance of Richmond and Collingwood, you’ll bring:

  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including those facing complex barriers.
  • A proven ability to manage community projects from start to finish.
  • Strong grant writing and reporting skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in community development, community services, or adult education.
