About the Organisation

The Werribee River Association (WRA) is a not-for-profit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Werribee River. With a strong history of advocacy and community action, WRA works with local groups, government, and businesses to improve waterway health.

About the Role

As Werribee Riverkeeper, you’ll be the public voice for the river, leading conservation efforts, working with the community, and advocating for better water quality and biodiversity.

What you’ll do:

  • Speak up for the river through campaigns, partnerships, and media.
  • Work with government, community groups, and local businesses.
  • Run education and engagement programs.
  • Help secure funding and support for projects.

About You

You’re passionate about the environment and good at getting people on board. You have:

  • Knowledge of waterway management and environmental issues.
  • Experience in conservation, advocacy and community programs.
  • Strong public speaking and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to attend events outside standard hours.
  • A relevant qualification or hands-on experience.
