Australia for UNHCR (A4U) is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner in Australia, raising funds and awareness to support displaced people across the globe. Australia for UNHCR unites caring Australians to support people fleeing conflict, disaster and persecution and advocates and raises significant funds for refugee protection, emergency aid and long-term support and solutions, helping UNHCR reach millions of displaced people each year.
Australia for UNHCR raises almost $50m annually from individual donors, philanthropists and corporates leading to direct impact on the ground delivering emergency support such as shelter, protection, water, medicines and other life-saving essentials. Australia for UNHCR also directly funds international projects that support longer-term care such as building schools, running livelihood programs and providing healthcare.
Reporting to the chief executive officer and forming part of the executive team, you will provide leadership, vision, strategic direction, monitoring and reporting for the fundraising and communication functions.
You will lead a high-performing team with portfolio responsibilities of regular giving, digital, emergency appeals, communications, and public affairs. You will drive innovation in fundraising products and develop and implement mainly a data led strategy, and audience centric communication across multiple channels.
You will participate in global UNHCR forums, bringing Australia for UNHCR's ideas, experience and interests into UNHCR's decision-making and planning processes
You are a strategic leader who is data driven and people centred. You have experience building and implementing multi-channel fundraising and communication strategies utilising high-level business intelligence. You are accustomed to working collaboratively and have the ability to impact and influence strategic decision making across the organisation. You’ve also had success;
