The Organisation
Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand was established to address the critical, contemporary issues facing women, girls and families. They work to advance equity and social justice, and to support our communities to thrive.
Good Shepherd’s purpose is to disrupt cycles of intergenerational disadvantage by providing specialist services such as domestic and family violence recovery, crisis and housing services, financial products and capability building and family counselling.

The Role
The Manager of Advocacy and Stakeholder Relations is responsible for driving the organisation’s advocacy agenda and developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Specifically, you will:
- Work with the research and policy team, to develop Good Shepherd’s evidence-based advocacy aligned with organisational mission
- Design and implement strategic stakeholder engagement plans, programs and projects
- Develop thoughtful alliances with internal and external stakeholders to develop campaigns
- Manage Good Shepherd’s approach to ethical partnerships
- Position Good Shepherd as the voice for issues impacting women, girls and families, particularly in the areas of family violence, homelessness and financial inclusion.
Skills Required
You will have advocacy or stakeholder management experience from the NFP sector, a corporate affairs role or within a government related context. Your strategic mindset and excellent communication skills will enable you drive to the organisation’s advocacy agenda.

- An in-depth understanding and experience of working on socio-economic development issues in a policy environment.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, a demonstrated commitment to diversity and women’s rights with an ability to integrate gender equality into advocacy work.

- Exceptional communication skills that deliver informed and meaningful messages.
