New Israel Fund (NIF) Australia was established in 2011 to promote equality of civil and human rights, social and economic justice, women’s rights, religious pluralism and tolerance, and environmental protection across Israel-Palestine. We are committed to an end to the occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) and a homeland for Israelis and for Palestinians. We have a presence in Melbourne and Sydney, a “NewGen”/youth supporter network and a large database of donors and supporters that is continuing to grow.
We are a small organisation, managed by an Executive Director, and an active board with members in Sydney and Melbourne. NIF, together with our global partners, advances a just and democratic Israel-Palestine that upholds equality for all, as envisioned in Israel’s Declaration of Independence. To realise our vision, we partner with Israeli accredited non-profits, raise funds for their projects and engage our supporters and the broader community on the critical issues facing Israeli society. We are the Australian Jewish community’s leading progressive voice on Israel-Palestine. Since our establishment in Australia in 2011, thousands of people have come to our events and we’ve distributed millions of dollars to critical civil society projects in Israel-Palestine.

Since its establishment thirteen years ago, NIF Australia has experienced rapid growth, increasing its educational footprint in Australia and distributing more donations to empower civil society in Israel-Palestine.
We are looking for a self-starter who will be responsible for helping to prepare and coordinate the organisation’s educational events and manage external communications. For a full list of activities and responsibilities, see the attached job description.
Please note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria. If you are passionate about the work of NIF and believe you bring value to our team we want to hear from you. We encourage people with a disability, LGBTIQ+ people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to apply.
