We have an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal Partnerships Officer to join the Social Planning and Equity / Community Partnerships team. The position is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and reporting on the Reconciliation Action Plan.

A typical day will include;

  • Lead the development of Councils Reconciliation Action Plan deliverables.
  • Provide input and advice to Council regarding access, equity and inclusion and health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their extended families and communities.
  • Develop and support the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group to inform the development and implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Deliver stakeholder engagement and liaise with relevant partners to inform the development and implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Facilitate the administrative requirements for Reconciliation Australia's endorsement of the Nillumbik Reconciliation Action Plan.

What you'll bring to this role;

  • Qualifications in community development, social sciences or a related discipline and/or relevant experience.
  • Skills in developing and delivering strategies, projects or activities that support Reconciliation.
  • Experience working with Traditional Owners and/or First Nations communities.
  • Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder engagement and working groups.

What's on offer?

Temporary full time position until 30 June 2025 with salary package of $86,177 - $112,059 total remuneration per annum that includes 11% super, annual leave loading and monthly RDO or Temporary part time position until 30 June 2025 with salary package of $51,491 - $58,886 total remuneration (pro rata) per annum that includes 11% super and annual leave loading.
