The Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional prevention and gender equality lead for our Baby Makes 3 Postnatal Lead in a part-time (0.8 EFT), fixed term capacity until June 2025.

In an exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of healthAbility’s award winning, evidence-based and social change initiative - Baby Makes 3. Baby Makes 3 builds capacity of existing health and social systems to create gender equality, prevent violence against women and promote mental wellbeing for parents. As the Postnatal Lead you will work closely with Councils, Maternal Child Health and key partners to implement the Baby Makes 3 program, whole of setting framework and relevant initiatives.

Skills & Experience

To be successful, we are seeking a Lead who has the following experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification such as Health Promotion, Public health / Health Sciences and/or minimum of three years’ experience working the primary prevention of violence against women
  • Highly developed communication skills including report writing and development of collateral to support project implementation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working within a primary prevention of violence against women framework
  • Highly developed project management skills, understanding of the design and implementation of systems and programs, problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and the ability to be flexible and responsive to issues and new developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing partnerships with a range of organisations with ease.
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills in MS Office applications (Word and Excel)
  • Experience in facilitation and group training would be highly regarded
  • Desirable, experience working in Maternal Child Health Services and/or Local Government
