MASP provides comprehensive support and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness. 

Our Homelessness Support programs assist people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to find a safe and secure place to live. We understand that everyone is unique, and we offer different program options to choose from, as well as tailor-made plans to suit.

In addition to individual support and planning, some of our programs can provide flexible funds to assist people in accessing and maintaining their housing.

As well as leading the Housing Access team, the Senior Worker Housing Access provides case management for homeless and disadvantaged people, and builds strong partnerships with local services. This full-time ongoing position sits in the Client Services department and reports to the Manager Homelessness Support. The successful candidate will hold a suitable qualification and have experience engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs.

Expected commencing salary of $84,506.74 per annum (dependent on qualifications) plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.

Essential role-specific skills, knowledge and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience, or a combination of both.
  • Ability to deliver effective client-centred case management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs in relation to providing housing access.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of the local service sector and working in partnership.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills – demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills, active listening, empathy, social awareness, and emotional intelligence in verbal communications.

Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge and experience

  • A working knowledge of current policy relating to the homelessness sector.
