About You

To undertake this position, you will have highly developed interpersonal skills, including experience working with young people.

You will have the ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding/adapting to the changing needs of young people.

Further the successful candidate will have experience advocating for young people to support and inform policies and facilitate opportunities.

The position's focus will be:

• Collaborate with youth organisations, government agencies, and/or internal stakeholders to design a Noosa Youth Connect Space, as per the Department of Youth Justice Funding Agreement. 
• Create and manage a welcoming, safe drop-in space for young people aged 12 to 17 years that is youth-led and codesigned by young people in Noosa Shire as per the Department of Youth Justice Funding Agreement.
• Cultivate a safe and supportive environment conducive to young people.
• Link and refer young people to relevant local services and partners and identify help-seeking behaviours in young people. 
• Undertake community engagement, communications, and planning for youth-focused projects, activities, and events at the Youth Connect Space.
• Work as part of the Community Development team to plan, promote and activate the Noosa Youth Connect Space.
