About the role:

In April 2022, the NSW Government announced the establishment of temporary housing sites to accommodate the urgent housing needs emerging from the February 2022 storms and floods in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

NRH has been contracted by the NSW Government to deliver tenancy management and site maintenance of 7 Villages across the Region. The homes in the Villages can house between one individual to families and are supplemented by supporting infrastructure and amenities. Ultimately the objectives of the program delivered by NRH, is to support residents achieve their longer-term housing goals.

The HR Officer will deliver HR activities in every aspect of the employment process, including recruitment, selection, orientation and learning, development and training for staff members of the Community Villages.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Partnerships, People and Customer Experience, the successful applicant will be involved in:

  • Working with managers to facilitate end-to-end recruitment (internal and external campaigns) including revision of job descriptions, advertising, candidate application management, tracking, selection, assisting with reference checks, onboarding and induction programs
  • Effectively coordinating all documentation for new employees, ensuring they receive comprehensive new starter packs, contracts of employment promptly
  • Assisting managers in coordinate the induction program for new staff
  • Supporting onboarding process with new employees and proactively assist with resolving any issues
  • Organising learning, development and training for staff across all sites
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and communication of people and culture policies and procedures
  • Preparing reports and analysis for continuous improvement of people and culture activities.

About you:

  • Experience in delivery of person-centred customer service, with motivation to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Relevant qualification in human resources management or business, or equivalent experience in the provision of generalist human resources advice and consultancy services.
  • Sound knowledge of the legislative and regulative requirements relating to human resources management and industrial/employee relations, and the ability to provide practical advice on Human Resources matters
  • Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills including working to deadlines, attending to detail at all times
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Programs particularly Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to adapt and learn internal IT systems
  • Hold a current NSW driver licence and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
