Our opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Community Engagement, the Community Liaison Coordinator provides high-level strategic and procedural advice, through application of specialist knowledge and experience to act as primary liaison between stakeholders including senior management, elected officials, resident associations and community groups.  

Role modelling Northern Beaches Councils values and behaviours, the position maintains sensitivity and confidentiality during all interactions and liaisons in relation to Council operations and Council business.

The key focus areas of this role include:

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing collaboration, driving results and fostering a deeper appreciation of Council business.
  • Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with minimal risk to the organisation.
  • Coach and motivate staff, creating a values’ driven team who are outcome driven and ‘put the customer at the heart of everything the team does’.
