Are you a skilled governance professional with a passion for making a meaningful impact? The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a Senior Project Officer – Governance, Planning and Reporting to lead critical governance initiatives and drive excellence in planning, reporting, and policy frameworks.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Officer, you’ll play a vital role in implementing, reviewing, and improving governance functions to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance with Commonwealth requirements. Working collaboratively across the NLC, you will lead initiatives, provide expert advice, and empower stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.

What You Will Bring

You offer expertise and an in-depth understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation, standards and internal policies. Advanced skills in data analysis, identifying trends, and developing evidence-based solutions. Proven experience supervising and managing staff. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and tailor training to diverse audiences. Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver quality work while working with deadlines.

  • Relevant tertiary level qualifications at a minimum Advanced Diploma level in Commerce, Law or Business or equivalent experience, minimum of three (3) years working in a similar or related role.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and explain trends in data and develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Proven record of effectively supervising and managing staff, including demonstrating the ability to provide guidance, support, and leadership to ensure the achievement of team goals.
  • Experience conducting process analysis, and preparing high level reports for stakeholders.

We offer

  • A starting base salary of $98,725 plus 14.5% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowance of up to $4,797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,630 without dependents.
    • 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmas close down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,961
