We are interested in a variety of backgrounds and experiences, particularly people with sector experience in a senior leadership or Board role.

About us

NWYAS was established in 1985 as a local community response to the needs of homeless and at-risk young people. NWYAS is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 and registered as a charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.

NWYAS’s principal purpose is to respond to and alleviate homelessness for young people and young families. This is delivered through the provision of housing and supporting young clients on their journey to independence through referral support, information, and advocacy. NWYAS is principally funded by the Queensland Government under the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and Crisis Accommodation Programs to deliver housing, services and support to young people and young families. We do this within a case-management framework.
