No to Violence is Australia’s peak body for individuals and organisations that work with men that use violence.

We provide training, sector development and advocacy across the sector.

We operate the Men’s Referral Service, providing a counselling service and referral pathways directly to men who use violence.

As a pro-feminist organisation, women and children are at the center of what we do - by ending men’s use of family violence, families, individuals, and communities are safer.

About the role

The Head of People & Culture (P&C) will report to the GM Culture and Corporate Services and be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team. In this role, you will be responsible for leadership, strategic oversight, and management of People & Culture Department.

As Head of the People and Culture Department you will be a leading voice across the organisation and outspoken advocate and role model for a strong, positive, engaged and values based organisational culture. You will work with your General Manager to develop and implement a People and Culture annual plan aligned to the organisation’s overall strategy and strategic plan.

The P&C plan will encompass a number of elements including, but not limited to:

  • Building a values-based culture
  • Leadership development
  • Recruitment and retention
  • Workforce health, safety and wellbeing
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Workforce development
  • Performance excellence
  • HR systems and process efficiency & effectiveness

The Head of People & Culture is responsible for P&C operational management, ensuring that P&C systems, processes, policies and procedures are efficient, compliant with relevant legislation and in line with best practice principles, and that NTV’s people resourcing and operational requirements are achieved.

A key focus of the role will be building and enhancing the P&C function and presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to P&C’s future development.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience as a HR / People & Culture leader, balancing both operational and strategic project activities.
  • Experience in supporting organisational and cultural transformation change.
  • A passion for, and proven track record, in creating and implementing a positive values-based culture.
  • Exceptionally high level of relationship management with the proven ability to build trust and engagement across all stakeholder groups.
  • Good understanding of employment law (including WHS) comprising experience of interpreting and implementing Awards and EAs and preparing employment contract templates.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated project and operational management skills.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills, high levels of accuracy and ability to determine priorities.
  • Ability to balance both employee and organisational requirements in decision making.
  • Ability to work in a changing and developing environment.
