Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology, and disability services to more than 5,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability, and their families, to participate in the community to their full potential.

About the role

The Practice Lead Student Placements and Programs oversees the development and delivery of student placement and practice-based learning. The incumbent will cooperate with various partners within the landscape of allied health placement and practice-based learning to ensure student placement programs are focused on quality outcomes for clients and students.

This is a full-time role offered on a two-year fixed term basis, located in our modern office at Hindmarsh.

As the Practice Lead Student Placements and Programs, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional leadership, guidance and advice in relation to the development of sustainable and high-quality student placement programs
  • Developing and evaluating new and innovative models of student placements and programs in collaboration with Flinders University
  • Supporting and providing mentoring to team members and clinical supervisors, along with monitoring practice to ensure appropriate standards are met
  • Establishing and managing relationships with external agencies and Flinders University to achieve ongoing development of student outcomes
  • Liaise with relevant Flinders University teaching teams to provide teaching materials, lectures and tutorials on disability and paediatrics to relevant disciplines
  • Advise and contribute to the development of pathways from student to clinician including work readiness, recruitment, and orientation.

About you

As well as being aligned with Novita’s ICARE values, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health discipline (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech pathology), with post-graduate qualifications well-regarded
  • Registration with or membership of the relevant professional organisation (e.g. AHPRA or SPA)
  • Demonstrated skills and significant experience in allied health supervision practice, particularly relating to students and new graduate/early career allied health staff
  • Proven experience in the implementation and delivery of person-centred therapy supports
  • Experience in the creation, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs for allied health
  • Exceptional time management skills and a flexible and proactive approach with the ability to respond to continual changing priorities.

We take safeguarding our clients seriously. As such, you must be able to provide evidence that you have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (or hold a valid exemption). If you don’t already hold a current NDIS Worker Check and DHS Working with Children Check, we’ll let you know how to obtain these prior to starting work with us.

What we offer

Your remuneration will be aligned with your skills and experience. Additionally, you can salary package up to $15,900 per annum, decreasing your taxable income and increasing your take-home pay. Further salary-packaging benefits are available, including meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, novated vehicle leasing, and additional superannuation contributions.
