Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women's Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Communications Officer to work with the Communications Coordinator to implement NPYWC’s Brand and Communications Strategy. This role supports the development of NPYWC's external voice by collecting and sharing content, viewpoints, and stories from programs, people, and activities across various channels, while assisting the Communications Coordinator with donor and customer relationships, media engagements, and merchandise logistics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the implementation of NPYWC's Brand and Communications Strategy.
  • Collaborate with NPYWC programs and Anangu members to create and gather content and stories for social media and digital platforms.
  • Assist in managing the NPYWC donor portfolio and enhancing engagement experiences.
  • Manage customer databases and implement targeted sales initiatives.
  • Oversee merchandise management, production, and markets.
  • Contribute to planning and organising special events and initiatives.
  • Assist with website content creation and updates for NPYWC.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, including those with English as a second language.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging social media trends.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, Anangu members, and external stakeholders to collect and share authentic viewpoints.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills for managing timelines and communication priorities.
  • Initiative and creativity in contributing to audience engagement campaigns and ideas.
