Join Us in Making a Difference – Practitioner Opportunity in Men’s Behaviour Change (Mount Isa)
Are you a highly skilled, innovative and agile professional who wants to make a difference to the lives of adults and children experiencing domestic and family violence?
DVNQ is expanding our team, so we are looking for a Men’s Behaviour Change Facilitator to work as part of our dedicated Prevention Team in our Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MenTER).
In this role, you will work with men who want to stop their use of violence and controlling behaviour, and build healthy, respectful relationships through individual and group work.
What do our team members say?
“The role is dynamic and has lots of variety. It’s challenging and has helped me to grow as a professional. We have a small team who works closely together and I feel supported.”
“I feel supported by the team and the organisation. This role has been a great learning opportunity and there are plenty of opportunities for growth and development.”
“I started working with men who use violence as a preventative strategy to support the safety of women and children. I love working for DVNQ because the environment is so supportive.”
“The role is challenging but that’s acknowledged. The care for staff is trauma informed. There is a strong advocacy for social justice in the Duluth program. Working with the men is a way to keep not only women and children safe, but men safe too.”
As a Men’s Behaviour Change Practitioner, you will work as part of a team to help coordinate positive change and accountability for men who use violence in their relationships.
You will be responsible for referral assessments, providing support to the program facilitators, attending court to provide information to respondents and will maintain contact with participants of the men’s behaviour change groups and partner with local services to strengthen referral pathways and collaboration.
Are you ready to be a catalyst for positive change? Apply now and be part of something extraordinary!
Successful candidates will be future focused, accountable, and able to create a positive culture. You’ll be a great fit if you have a team approach to enhancing the safety of women and children, reflective practice, cultural awareness and well-established self-care practices.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate, with examples, that they are able to meet the following selection criteria.
