Established in 2003, the Northern Rivers Community Foundation (NRCF) is a community-based philanthropic organisation that leads positive change across the Northern Rivers, NSW by empowering communities to thrive. We build healthy and resilient communities by supporting local not-for-profit and grassroots organisations to tackle challenging social and environmental problems.
We connect our wonderful giving community of individuals, families, businesses and national foundations to causes that matter. Through our network of over 350 community organisations, NRCF evidence-based grant making supports a wide range of community-led projects to become reality.
With around $3.0M in our perpetuity funds, and our annual grant funding growing to nearly $3M in 2024, NRCF leverage substantial social impact in the Northern Rivers. We back our communities to deliver local, innovative approaches that ultimately result in a more resilient and thriving region.
The Grants Officer role is at the heart of what we do - connecting with and supporting not for profit and grassroots groups across the Northern Rivers NSW, and ensuring the delivery of NRCF's grant programs.
NRCF is in an exciting phase of growth and is seeking an experienced and committed individual to join the team of this innovative regional Community Foundation. The Grants Officer works with community organisations, ensuring the successful coordination and administration of NRCF grant lifecycle processes, from application through to grant acquittal and impact reporting.
NRCF generally runs several grant programs each year. Our recent granting has been at high levels due to managing several disaster recovery and resilience programs. This is expected to return to more historic levels of $500,000 per year, although we are always aiming for bigger and more impactful things!
The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills, a proven track record of administrative support within the not-for-profit sector, demonstrate a commitment to NRCF’s vision and mission, and is committed to working in a values-driven organisation.
We are looking for a candidate who loves connecting with local grassroots organisations, and has strong admin/organisational skills that allow them to provide and develop easy to follow support processes for community groups including first time grant applicants.
You will work closely with the Impact Manager to deliver best practice grant programs in line with NRCF’s strategic objectives and program policies by:
