About the role

The Community Engagement Manager is a pivotal member of the MSIR Leadership team, dedicated to executing the NRHP's strategic commitment to engaging key stakeholders across the community, business, and philanthropic sectors within the broader North Richmond community.

This role is essential in fostering meaningful connections and promoting active participation in community initiatives.

  • Develop and implement a Community Engagement Plan including the Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR), AOD and Outreach, and Community Engagement programs, and broader North Richmond precinct activities.
  • Report on Community Engagement Activity regularly to the NRHP Governance Groups, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Facilitate feedback loops between the community, NRHP, and funders to ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to community engagement activities.
  • Champion NRHP’s commitment to community engagement and stakeholder management within the partnership and the broader community.
  • Advise and build capacity among colleagues to integrate community engagement principles into their practices.
  • Act as a key contact for community stakeholders, fostering relationships with community organizations and partners.
  • Participate in local and state-wide networks to promote and learn from best practices in community engagement.
  • Use a systems framework and change management approach to support and sustain community engagement initiatives.

About you

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Community Engagement or related discipline (mandatory).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating Community Engagement Plans.
  • Strong ability to engage community members and partner organisations on sensitive matters.
  • High-level government and stakeholder relations experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Commitment to the principles of harm reduction.
  • Valid Police Check and Working With Children Check (mandatory).
