About the role
As the Health Promotion Coordinator, you will lead the development and implementation of our Community Health - Health Promotion (CHHP) Plan, driving initiatives that reflect both state and national health priorities. You'll have the opportunity to shape programs that focus on key areas like mental health, healthy living, and reconciliation, ensuring our community thrives. This role is perfect for someone who is a proactive leader, passionate about health promotion, and ready to build strong partnerships to drive impactful projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of annual CHHP action plans and strategic 4-year plans aligned with state and national health priorities.
- Meeting service and funding agreement targets and ensuring timely reporting to NRCH and the Department of Health.
- Coordinating health promotion campaigns and driving initiatives focused on mental health, reconciliation, gender equity, and more.
- Building and sustaining partnerships with local communities and key stakeholders to enhance the reach and effectiveness of health promotion programs.
- Applying population health data to identify and address key health issues within our community.
- Promoting health and wellbeing both within NRCH and in the wider community, ensuring that we are a health-promoting organisation.
- Supporting the implementation of the NRCH Reconciliation Action Plan and embedding health equity into every aspect of our work.
About you
You are a passionate and experienced health promoter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to making a difference in diverse communities. With strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset, you’ll inspire others and drive health promotion initiatives that have a lasting impact.
You bring:
- Bachelor Degree of Health Science with a major in Health Promotion, or Bachelor Degree of Health Promotion, Public Health or Population Health, or tertiary qualification in a health-related field.
- 3+ years of experience in health promotion, prevention strategies, and capacity building in community or healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of the Social Model of Health and Population Health approaches.
- Proven ability to develop and manage health promotion programs and campaigns.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in building sustainable community partnerships.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team to deliver on strategic priorities and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in working with diverse and culturally rich communities to improve health outcomes.
- A passion for tackling health inequities, with a focus on reconciliation, gender equity, and climate action.
