Join NRM South's Biodiversity team at our Hobart office.
NRM South is one of three natural resource management bodies in Tasmania and forms part of a national network of 54 similar bodies. NRM South is a not-for-profit and is responsible for contributing to the region’s natural resource management, including action on threatened species, Threatened Ecological Communities and priority places. We have a partnership delivery model, delivering projects on behalf of Australian and Tasmanian Governments, and through investment from our local, business and industry partners.
The Project Officer/Senior Project Officer (PO/SPO) will manage projects on threatened species, Threatened Ecological Communities and/or ecological restoration. The PO/SPO will have experience in managing and delivering on ground projects and contribute to the broader Biodiversity Strategic Themes through activities including stakeholder engagement and relationship management, providing technical advice, and other tasks as requested by NRM South management.
You’ll have tertiary qualifications in ecology, restoration, natural resource management (botanical expertise will be considered favourably), or equivalent, with experience in managing and delivering projects.
You’ll be working in a small team with people who share your values to protect Tasmania’s natural environment. We offer a salary of $78,795 – $85,933 per year (depending on qualifications and experience), plus superannuation. Candidates will be considered at the Project Officer level, with those with higher skills and experience considered at Senior Project Officer level. Work arrangements are flexible and we will consider part-time (minimum of 0.6) to full-time. NRM South values diversity and inclusion in its team and provides career progression opportunities.
