Who is Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre? What makes us different?

We are a not-for-profit community legal centre that is passionate about what we do and committed to justice for clients and the community. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of solicitors, tenant advocates, social workers, financial counsellors, older people’s rights advocates, community legal education staff, financial educators, program support staff and volunteers. Our Women’s Resource and Engagement Network (WREN) program provides wrap-around legal and non-legal services in safe locations to women experiencing domestic violence.

About our Solicitor (WREN) role

This role will provide comprehensive legal advice, advocacy and court representation to women who have recently experienced family violence or are at risk of family violence, for issues directly related to the family violence that they have experienced, with a focus on family law. Duty lawyer and outreach rosters may also apply.

What an average day might look like

• Offering legal advice and assistance to vulnerable clients.
• Attending court or providing outreach services to our program partners.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders (eg legal, community, corporate, etc.) to achieve effective client outcomes.
• Represent the NSCLC in internal and external meetings, activities and events.
