Overall purpose of program

The Donor Campaigns Coordinator sits within the Donor Development team which is responsible for donor communications, fundraising appeals, new donor acquisition and donor retention. The team also receives and processes donations and aims to provide a high level of donor satisfaction, support and care.

Overall purpose of position

The Donor Campaigns Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel direct marketing campaigns to acquire, retain, develop and reactivate donors.

The main areas of focus will be managing the operations of the face-to-face regular giving program, supporting digital acquisition campaigns including an annual Giving Day, supporting the delivery of direct mail fundraising appeals as well as delivering communications through channels including direct mail, telemarketing, email, digital advertising and SMS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of multi-channel direct marketing campaigns to acquire, retain, develop and reactivate donors – in particular, the coordination of the direct mail appeals program.
  • Coordinate the operational elements of the face-to-face regular giving program to acquire new regular giving donors.
  • Implement direct mail appeals, regular giving activities, and all other donor campaigns on time and to budget.
  • Produce content and deliver digital communications for fundraising appeals including campaign emails, donor e-newsletters and website copy.
  • Coordinate delivery of the donor onboarding and donor reactivation programs including working with internal staff to produce data and external suppliers such as printers, mail houses and telemarketing agencies.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to deliver print, telemarketing and creative content for donor communications.
  • Manage suppliers and stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Provide high standard of support to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

Skills and Experience

  • Have at least 3-5 years’ experience in delivering fundraising appeals through multiple channels (in particular direct mail appeals) and/or supporting regular giving acquisition through face-to-face fundraising
  • An excellent understanding of fundraising principles and best practice
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise written briefs to all necessary internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to coordinate the development of campaign content including artwork and copy for various deliverables produced internally and via agencies
  • Strong eye for detail including copy editing and campaign evaluation skills (copy writing skills will be desirable)
  • Highly analytical and results driven
  • Understanding of project management principles
  • A working knowledge of compliance requirements including Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) and Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) regulations is desirable
  • A sound understanding of fundraising CRM and reporting (Salesforce preferred)
  • Experience obtaining and assessing competitive quotes, tracking campaign budgets and invoices to effectively manage suppliers
