About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as the NTAV Public Programs & Education Manager. You will provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Education & Public Programs team, leading the development of programs, products, tours and services across digital and physical platforms. You will manage the delivery of quality programs, ensuring a tailored, inspiring and personalised journey for students, educators and the wider public.

This role is situated within the Collections & Cultural Projects team and works across NTAV portfolios. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a strategic vision and implementation plans for the design and delivery of high-quality programs, products and services that meet curriculum standards and provide learning experiences for all ages.
  • Build a high performing team including leading, mentoring, training and managing multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver complex projects, programs and events.
  • Manage complex projects, including the preparation of budgets, financial management and risk management reporting.
  • Review existing education programs to ensure they meet curriculum standards
  • Initiate and develop creative and inclusive learning experiences for all ages to encourage a greater understanding, awareness and involvement with Trust properties
  • Develop partnerships to encourage educational and community collaboration
  • Oversee the quality of delivery and presentation of programs
  • Develop and manage public programs including once off events and recurring tours conducted at our properties
  • Promote Trust education programs to teachers and groups
  • Identify grant and partnership opportunities and contribute to the preparation and acquittal of sponsorship applications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end program development and delivery
  • Experience in developing and managing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of teaching practices and best practice pedagogy that meets curriculum standards and provides learning experiences for all ages
  • Strong, natural leader with the ability empower a team
  • Financial management experience and acumen including the preparation of budgets, financial management and risk management reporting
  • A strong customer service focus
  • Experience in working in a fast paced, multi-tasking work environment
  • A strong teamwork ethic including leading, mentoring and training different teams
  • A hands-on approach to tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to prepare and deliver presentations to various audiences
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational, time, task and priority management
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Passion to inspire the community to appreciate, conserve and celebrate its natural, cultural and Indigenous heritage
  • Experience or understanding of a community–based, non-government organisation
  • Police and Working With Children’s Check
  • A Driver’s Licence – travel to Victoria-wide sites
  • Capacity to do some weekend work
