OC Connections has been providing services to people with an intellectual disability since 1950. Today OC Connections provides services to over 500 adults in the areas of employment, recreation, residential and day services.

Accountabilities

Planning

  • Contribute to a business plan for service area and local area of responsibility

Leadership

  • Promote a positive vision to staff to ensure the delivery of high quality service
  • Coordinate and support staff to apply the person - centred practice

Roster & services

  • Liaise with Service Manager to determine staff resourcing needs
  • Develop rosters that respond to those needs to ensure the optimum balance between providing excellent service delivery while being efficient, sustainable and cost effective

Resource management

  • Manage and allocate OC Connection’s resources in an efficient manner to gain optimum benefit

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with organisational Quality Management System, and ensure the resolution of identified non-conformances and quality action items in areas of responsibility

Occupational Health, Safety and Environment

  • Provide, in so far as is reasonably practicable, a healthy and safe work environment for self and staff

  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and creative encouragement to staff and participants

Qualifications & other requirements

  • Degree or Diploma qualifications in a disability related discipline
  • Maintenance of a “clear” police check.
  • Completion of a clear DWES check
  • Current Australian drivers’ licence
  • NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Commission Induction
  • State government Infection Control on-line
  • Child safe training online Knowledge
  • Sound knowledge (or the ability to quickly acquire sound knowledge) of the Disability Services Act 2006, Charter of Human Rights, NDIS and other relevant legislative requirements.Demonstrable experience
  • Essential Significant leadership experience (as a guide at least 3 years) in a multi -faceted organisation
  • Desirable o Previous experience working in the disability sector in the not- for- profit sector.

Demonstrable skills

  • A participative and consultative managerial style which promotes open communication, inclusive decision making and respect
  • Lateral thinking and problem solving ability
  • Time management skills to work on competing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of written communication skills to write letters and short reports
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
