Ocean Home Care is looking for Support Workers to cover the Western Metropolitan Surburbs of Melbourne, to work with clients across the Brimbank, Maribyrnong, Hobson's Bay, Moonee Valley, City of Melbourne, Wyndham and Melton Shire Municipalities.

Support Worker Role and Responsiblities

• Assisting clients with domestic tasks such as laundry, ironing, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, bed linen changes, bath, toilet, shower cleaning and reaching up to cupboards.
• Assisting clients with shopping, monitoring client’s safety and well-being, transferring clients from chair to bed/chair and supporting clients when unstable with mobility.
• Support and encourage clients to eat healthy meals, assist with preparing and feeding if required.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and getting to and from activities and meals according to the individual care plan.
• Support clients with community access such as medical appointments, shopping, social and family events.

Selection Criteria

• Certificate III in Aged Care, or the willingness to undertake studies to achieve this minimum.
• Must have a commitment to supporting elderly people, people living with a disability or mental health condition.
• Good communication skills, ability to speak another language is an advantage.
• Be supportive, patient, caring and non-judgmental.
• A current Driver’s License and own car is preferred.
• Be reliable and on time.
• Can work independently or in a team.

• Eligibility to work in Australia
• NDIS worker screening check
• Current Police Check
• Working with Children check
• Provide First Aid certification and current CPR certificate
• Certificate of training in Cert 3 in Aged Care/Cert 4 in Individual Support or proof of enrolment.
• Received at least 2 doses of covid vaccination and can provide proof.
