ONCALL Group

NDIS JobReady

Are you looking to get into the Disability sector and make a meaningful contribution to the lives of another?

ONCALL have created a program that makes a career in disability accessible to everyone. Working in disability is some of the most rewarding work you will ever do, and our JobReady program enables people that have not worked in this amazing sector before to make a career change and take their first steps into a new career in disability.

The program starts with an in-classroom course that delivers extensive content in an 8-day intensive training program. Course content is delivered through a mixture of hands-on practical and course work.

At the conclusion of the 8-day intensive training, you will be Job Ready and employable with ONCALL to work with our NDIS participants. You will have access to regular ongoing training and development with our 22-week support and mentoring program, including follow up webinars, workplace activities, and supported shadow shifts with experienced staff.

About you:

As a new graduate of our JobReady Program, you will share ONCALL’s passion for delivering quality, safe, client/participant-centred support to significantly add value, improve and create independence in the lives of the most vulnerable people in our community.

ONCALL prides itself on being a person-centred organisation, committed to human rights, equal citizenship and maximising personal choice and control for all clients/participants, in an environment free from abuse.

We’re looking for:

  • People with no Australian experience or qualifications in the disability sector.
  • People who are motivated to make a difference in the lives of others and are interested in disability.
  • People who are positive, take responsibility, capable of working calmly under pressure, team players, show initiative and have strong organisational skills.
  • People with a valid driver’s licence and a roadworthy and fully insured car.

Who you’ll be working with:

Upon completing the training program, you will be matched with an NDIS participant who is seeking support and may have similar hobbies, interests, values and culture to your own.

Building a positive, professional, relationship with this individual is key as you will be assisting and empowering them to make their own choices and decisions at home and in their community.

The type of activities you could be doing with the participant may vary, but generally they fall under three main areas, they are; community access, achieving goals and personal support.

ONCALL runs the training program on a 3-week cycle. If you are interested please submit an application, and we will give you call to discuss.

If you have any questions prior to applying you can contact Marcus Goodwin – Recruitment Consultant at ONCALL - on 9896 2468.
