About Us:

Landcare Tasmania is the peak body that represents, supports, strengthens and grows the community Landcare movement in Lutruwita/Tasmania. As the oldest State-based Landcare organisation in Australia, we have more than 320 member groups, plus individual and associate members. We support more than 7,000 volunteers to maintain and improve the health of Lutruwita/Tasmania’s natural and working landscapes.

About the Role:

We are currently looking for a motivated Landcare Network Coordinator to join our team. Key duties will include:

  • Supporting Landcare groups and schools, and strengthening the Landcare movement in Tasmania’s North and North West regions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, first nations organisations, local government, and other partners.
  • Facilitating workshops, capacity building and education events, and promoting positive relationships across the community.
  • Contributing to membership engagement and outreach programs.

About You:

We are seeking a candidate who has:

  • Proven experience in supporting community groups, building capacity, and fostering positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver workshops, events, or community projects.
  • Experience working with school-age children or youth.
  • Knowledge and experience of landcare or environmental topics (e.g.invasive species management, methods of environmental restoration).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including members, community groups, government agencies, and other partners.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Skills in managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and prioritising workload.
  • Computer literacy in common office software, e.g. Google Workspace, MS Office, Zoom, and willingness to learn new software systems
  • A Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmanian) and first aid certificate or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence.

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in education, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs, Landcare networks, or similar environmental/community organisations.
  • Familiarity with grant applications, reporting, and acquittal processes.
  • Competence in using CRM systems (e.g., Nationbuilder), project management software (e.g., ClickUp).
  • Understanding of the education system in Tasmania, with experience in schools highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with environmental and community issues specific to the Northern region of Tasmania.
