ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Public Guardian you will provide confidential and responsive executive support to a senior executive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be a creative thinker and problem-solver who is passionate about the work of OPG, and use your exceptional skills to maximise time, effectiveness and productivity for the Deputy Public Guardian. Your key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive executive support to the Deputy Public Guardian and assist other OPG senior executives on an ad hoc basis;
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to organise, prioritise and coordinate tasks to meet changing deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment;
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all interactions;
  • Use strong written communication skills to draft a range of routine communications including briefing notes, correspondence and internal documents;
  • Ensure workflows to and from the executive office is coordinated and recorded in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy, using the departmental records management system (eDocs);
  • Confidently contribute to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working that support the OPG executive office to maximise its performance
  • Demonstrate tact and discretion when dealing with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature;
  • Contribute to a positive, future focused OPG culture underpinned by a commitment to Queensland public service values, inclusion and diversity; and
  • Demonstrate cultural capability and a commitment to OPG’s program of work to reframe the relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
