about the role

As a Principal Reporting Officer, you will develop and provide operational and strategic advice and options on all aspects of reporting duties, including the development of operation and strategic focused reports for OPG program areas, respond to ad hoc data requests from internal and external stakeholders, conduct data audits and write briefs and other data informed reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate and lead the reporting of data for the Office of the Public Guardian’s (OPG) internal and external requirements.
  • Demonstrate a sound level of written, analytical and oral communication skills.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation supporting the functions of the Reporting team, including reporting procedures, operational and strategic planning and activities and performance indicators.
  • Identify and analyse systemic trends from relevant data and provide advice and prompt resolution on appropriate strategies to improve the delivery of services to OPG’s clients including through the use of audits and briefings.
  • Develop capacity and business processes to ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and analyse information and data flows involving the Public Guardian functions to ensure performance accountability, security, accuracy and planning needs are met.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of the functions of the team.
  • Coordinate team activities in an accountable, timely and professional manner and report on key outcome areas.
  • Lead, support and supervise reporting staff to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of high-quality reporting and strategic advice.

There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in analytics/reporting and/or experience would be highly regarded.
