Orana is a well establish service providing crisis, transitional and holistic wrap-around services for women and children who have or who are experiencing family and domestic violence. We have been successful in securing funding to employ two part-time Women’s Case Managers to be based at our Supporting Women in the Community Holistically (SWitCH) Outreach Centre.

The role of the Outreach Case Manager is to provide professional case management and support services to women which includes quality risk assessment and safety planning and the development, implementation, monitoring and review of individual support plans to assist women to achieve safety and their individual goals. This includes assistance with both practical and emotional tasks, assisting with written referrals to other services, transport and support at appointments including court, internal and external recreational activities and any other tasks required.

We are seeking experienced and knowledgeable individuals with a passion to advocate for women and childrenwho have experienced family and domestic violence. These are 4 days a week (30-hour) positions based at our offices in Noranda. Some availability may be required to work outside of normal business hours.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of family and domestic violence, its impact on women and children and the resources available to assist
  • Demonstrated experience in support planning and coordinated case management with clients, including risk assessment and safety planning
  • Knowledge & experience in culturally sensitive case management
  • Knowledge & experience in trauma informed and strength-based practices
  • Ability to advocate for clients and their needs
  • Ability to support change in an organisation to keep it developing and improving
  • Ability to manage competing demands within limited timeframes
  • Good Professional boundaries
  • High level of interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and society and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people
  • Understanding and capacity to relate to people from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds, including those with complex needs
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal including development of materials and reports and an ability to maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Commitment to working within Orana’s Vision and Mission
  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services Certificate IV or above
  • A current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Clearance
  • A valid driver’s licence and current First Aid Certificate
