At Orange Sky we are on a mission to Positively Connect Communities and we do this by providing the world's-first free mobile laundry and shower service to people in vulnerable communities. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia, and remote community growth has doubled and we are committed to helping 40,0000 people by 2025.
We’re always looking to increase our impact and help more people– striving to continually improve is in our DNA at Orange Sky. This role is a key member of our dynamic Operations Team, vital to the growth of the team within Orange Sky as well as the smooth operation and improvement of remote and indigenous services across Australia.
Orange Sky is growing its impact in remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and is looking for an additional Remote Coordinator to help establish and manage its services.
We are looking for a person who is connected to Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities and has a strong understanding of the historical, geographic, health, social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Strong communication skills is a core attribute of the person we are looking for. The role will include administrative tasks, application of a number of project management tools and processes, logistics and asset maintenance. This role will provide a unique opportunity for travel to some remote communities; therefore, you will need to be aware and respectful of cultural protocols and be willing and adaptable to travelling, living and working closely in a small team.
The applicant ideally has experience in a similar role within a fast-paced organisation, ideally within the not-for-profit sector and working with diverse stakeholders. Orange Sky is committed to improving remote and indigenous services and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Special Conditions: All applicants must nominate an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to their ability to meet the cultural capability criteria. This person may be a community member, supervisor or work colleague.
At Orange Sky, we want every person to be "Better for Being Orange", that is every one of our volunteers, friends, and supporters, all while working together towards delivering our mission. And as part of the Orange Sky team, you are no exception. You not only get to work with an outstanding bunch of high-performing people, but you're supported to continue your own personal growth and development in an inclusive and flexible environment, with benefits including:
We are committed to facilitating a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment. If you require any accommodations, we welcome you to let us know so we can work with you to participate fully in our recruitment experience.
