The Role

Reporting to the Data, Insights & Finance Manager, this 9 month contract role is responsible for providing critical financial support during a transition period, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and end-of-month reporting. As a key member of the finance team, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data while contributing to strategic initiatives that drive organisational success.

This role is responsible for:

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate financial budgets and forecasts in collaboration with team members and departmental stakeholders.
• End-of-Month Reporting: Manage the end-of-month reporting process, including variance analysis and ensuring data integrity.
• Reconciliations: Oversee and complete monthly reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Financial Analysis: Work with the Finance Manager and Financial Accountant to provide meaningful analysis to support organisational decision-making and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
• Support Strategic Projects: Assist with financial inputs for key organisational projects, working closely with cross-departmental teams.
• Process Improvements: Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within financial processes.

• Proven Financial Expertise: Degree qualified with 3 year+ experience in forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Attention to Detail: A knack for accuracy and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and propose meaningful solutions.
• Strong Communication Skills: Comfort in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and translating financial data into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in Tools: Advanced skills in accounting systems (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Adaptability: A proactive approach to tackling challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Collaboration and Team Spirit: The ability to work closely with a diverse team and contribute to shared goals.
