The Role

Our aim is to increase our impact and connect more Friends – striving to improve is in our DNA at Orange Sky. The Regional Impact Support Officer will work with the Regional Coordinator and the Local Leadership team to execute growth plans for an existing service and in some cases a region and to provide rollout support for a brand new service (if required).

This casual role will work as needed approx. 20 hours / month (averaging 5 hour / week) and can be worked around your other work, life or study commitments. The role will work with other members of the Orange Sky team both locally & nationally to support delivering the Orange Sky mission, vision and values.

The primary tasks will be:

  • Research & locate potential new shift locations & service provider partners.
  • Build & maintain relationships with local service providers & councils.
  • Preform and/or facilitate inspections and Risk Assessment for new shift locations.
  • Coordinate with volunteers for trial shifts as needed.
  • Provide first shift training for volunteers
  • Support with volunteer recruitment activities as required
  • Attend regular online or in person meeting with the Impact team at HQ.
  • At all times embrace & promote Orange Sky’s culture of ensuring safe and supportive service environments
  • Other ad hoc tasks allocated by the Senior Impact Manager

To be successful at Orange Sky, you need a genuine passion for our cause. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves delighting customers (or in Orange Sky’s case – our incredible volunteer base, and our friends on the street) and understands how to deliver high quality support and value to our services.

Additionally, the ideal applicant has:

  • Confidence in learning new technologies or platforms (training will be provided)
  • Willing to give things a crack
  • Relationship management skills
  • Understanding of Orange Sky and how we operate highly regarded
  • Knowledge of social services providing services to communities experiencing homelessness and hardship homelessness services in local area a plus
