The Assistant Accountant provides support for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including the preparation of reconciliations and assistance with Month End procedures. The role will require working with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure Orygen is meeting its transactional obligations, whilst maintaining appropriate internal controls.
Reporting to the Financial & Systems Accountant you will:

  • Prepare bank reconciliations, perform project distribution journals and updating the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Managing the accounts receivable function including; issuing invoices/receipts, recording income, managing outstanding debts and prepare debtor reconciliations when required.
  • Support the accounts payable function through the coding of purchase invoices, management of credit cards, purchase orders and preparing audit support.
  • Manage stakeholder enquiries via ticketing system and assist in managing the Travel Portal.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Relevant Tertiary Degree in Accounting/ Finance, or equivalent practical experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail skills and ability to work efficiently.
  • Previous accounting experience and Studying CA/CPA or other relevant financial post graduate qualification is highly desirable.
  • Customer service ethic and demonstrated ability to maintain excellent customer and client relations.

  • Salary package between $60,000 - $65,000 commensurate with skills and experience + 11% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 + $2,600 meals and entertainment card.
