The Project Officer – Service Implementation and Quality Improvement plays a critical role in supporting the development and improvement of youth mental health services nationwide. The Project Officer will design, coordinate, and deliver projects funded through the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC), with a focus on improving outcomes for young people experiencing severe or complex mental ill-health.

Reporting to the Service Implementation and Quality Improvement Team Lead you will:

  • Support project management, including developing timelines, coordinating activities, and ensuring deliverables are on time and within scope.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of webinars, events, and secondary consultation programs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, building relationships with national networks, including government and service providers and young people with lived experience.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans and analyze data to inform project outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing project reports, progress updates, and developing infographics to document youth mental health service models.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Qualifications in a relevant health discipline.
  • Experience of planning and coordinating projects and proven ability to write high-quality reports, case studies, and resources tailored to different audiences.
  • Understanding of program evaluation and quality assurance methodologies and proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the mental health system and deep commitment to making a positive impact on young people’s lives through improved mental health services.
