About the job

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) ensures the smooth operation of user-facing services and production systems. SRE blends pragmatic operations with software craftsmanship, applying sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering you will;

  • Ensure system reliability and security through monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and implementing disaster recovery and incident response processes.
  • Automate operations by designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines, applying infrastructure as code (IaC), and managing timely patching and updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on project goals, integrate best practices, and drive continuous improvement in system performance and security.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships by ensuring compliance with privacy laws, accreditation standards, and engaging external partners on technical requirements.
  • Engage with external stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide updates on system reliability, security, and compliance.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience managing reliable, secure production systems, including performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Skilled in automation and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (CDK), scripting (Bash, TypeScript), and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deep knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and compliance with industry standards, privacy regulations, and security monitoring best practices.
  • Competence in thriving in a dynamic environment, effectively managing changing priorities and requirements.
