About the opportunity – Director, Managed Services

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Director of Managed Services to drive new business development opportunities across the government and not-for-profit sectors. This role will see you drive business growth, identify and pursue new opportunities to deliver value to our clients.

As the Director, Managed Services, you will lead a small, dynamic team who share a big vision to transform the grant-making sector. You will have a high degree of influence, and work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Customer Service and Growth to set the direction and shape responsibilities to best meet the future direction of the team.

In this role you will have the opportunity to grow your business development skills across government and not-for-profit sectors, building and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will oversee the strategy and delivery of projects focused on best practice grant-making, including but not limited to local musters, template forms, research and thought leadership, and grant-making training. You will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture that emphasises innovation and excellence.

About you

  • You have a proven track record in developing go-to market strategies and creating compelling client value propositions.
  • You have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, and your initiative and analytical skills are outstanding. Your past experiences have equipped you with the skills to identify and secure new business development opportunities and new partnerships.
  • You have strong business, financial and commercial acumen together with outstanding conceptual and lateral thinking skills. You have the ability to use information to generate creative solutions to benefit the client and the business. Ideally, you will bring deep knowledge of government, both federal and state, and understand how government processes work.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement and quality control. We work in a very fluid and rapidly changing environment so your high calibre organisation skills will enable you to juggle competing priorities and deploy resources in the right amount at the right time.

The Director, Managed Services is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the Executive Director, Customer Service & Growth. When in the office, standard business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday, however, start and finish times are highly flexible. Currently our team is working partially from the office and partially from home or other remote locations (2 days per week).

To create a better work-life balance, the Our Community team works a 4-day week (pay for 5 days). We deliver 100% of the work in 80% of the time for 100% of the pay. We have high productivity, reduced stress levels, improved mental health and great team cohesion.

Our Community is located at 552 Victoria Street (corner of Curzon Street and Victoria Street), Wurundjeri Country, North Melbourne. We work in a modern, bright, art-filled, open plan office and operate in a fairly informal manner.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa
  • Will be required to undertake a Police Check
  • Will be subject to a probationary period of three (3) months
