Our Community is a well-established, world-leading, award-winning social enterprise that provides advice, connections, training and easy-to-use tech tools for people and organisations working to build stronger communities. Our dream is that every Australian should be able to go out their front door and stroll or wheel to a community group that suits their interests, passions and needs - or log on and do the same.
We have an ambitious agenda; we’re not constrained by bureaucracy or boundaries; we’re not interested in internal politics or egos, just in contributing something useful to society. We don't have layers of management, and we don't want someone to be a cog in the wheel of a corporate system. We want you to have plenty of opportunity to make Our Community platforms your own, and for you to be as excited about their potential as we are.
GiveNow facilitates payments for not-for-profits through a cost-effective and intuitive fundraising application. We ensure that the transaction process for donations, membership payments and event ticket purchases are completed efficiently, securely and logically. Our fundraising platform increases revenue to community causes, helping people become better supporters and providing a payment solutions hub for all not-for-profits.
We are seeking a skilled, personable, enthusiastic and energetic sales and marketing professional to join our busy small team. You will help us identify, create and manage the sales process including lead generation initiatives, promotional campaigns, and sales collateral for our community focused fundraising platform. Your primary focus will be mostly in the digital environment, but you need to be comfortable across all channels of communication.
As the Sales and Marketing specialist your key responsibilities will focus on developing and implementing a sales strategy for the platform and creating a strong pipeline of new customers and business opportunities. Key to the success of your marketing strategy will be your ability to generate new customers, as well as move customers from lower tier plans to our optimal Pro Plan, where customers will have greater access to activities such as event ticketing, membership registration and grant seeking.
You are passionate about enabling the not for profit sector to do fundraising well and bring strong skills and innovative thinking from your past experience. You are keenly interested in social media and how it can be used to develop marketing opportunities that will grow individual and community interest in our platform.
You have the experience, entrepreneurial skills and enthusiasm to lead and promote our sales and marketing campaigns. You are experienced at working towards, and achieving, ambitious revenue targets. You will thrive in this small but busy team, creating sales and marketing strategies and driving revenue growth.
You have experience using digital marketing tools, and enjoy analysing market trends, customer behaviour and campaign effectiveness. Your writing skills are a strong suit, you can prepare succinct reports that allow others to make well informed decisions.
Of course, you have great in person and phone/video-conferencing based communication and sales skills. You’re a natural problem solver who copes well when under pressure and is excited by the opportunity to create successful business outcomes.
Your outstanding organisation skills set you apart from others, you would be described as resourceful and a self-starter able to handle details well and promote our ethos of innovation, creativity and inclusion. You are unflappable under pressure!
This is your opportunity to be part of a game-changing agenda. We are impatient for progressive social change, and we aren’t prepared to wait for others to create it. We want to be right at the centre of it.
This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of your community. You’ll get the opportunity to work in an ethical company with all the excitement and agility of a start-up without the headaches. We’re built on solid foundations, we’re sustainable and successful – but we’ve only just begun. We’re not interested in just keeping things ticking along. We’re builders and we’re on a mission.
GiveNow is a small team within Our Community, and the nature of this role is quite varied. So we know our strength comes from the diversity of our people and so we want people with different experiences and backgrounds to apply.
Our organisation is one that is as supportive and socially conscious as it is agile and explorative. Our DNA of commercial mind and social heart captures who we are at our core. We have a great working atmosphere with an inclusive, fun work culture. Our team is full of highly collaborative, diverse people with awesome skills.
The Sales and Marketing role is full-time and reports to the Executive Director, GiveNow. When in the office, standard business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday, however, start and finish times are highly flexible. Currently our team is working partially from the office and partially from home or other remote locations.
To create a better work-life balance, the Our Community Team works a 4-day week (pay for 5 days). We deliver 100% of the work in 80% of the time for 100% of the pay. We have high productivity, reduced stress levels, improved mental health and great team cohesion.
Our office is located on Wurundjeri Country at 552 Victoria Street (corner of Curzon Street and Victoria Street), North Melbourne. We work in a modern, bright, art-filled, open plan office and operate in a fairly informal manner.
A position description is attached.
