About the role:

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Guest Liaison to be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and valued as they access food and community services. This is a dynamic role that blends customer service, community connection, and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, meaningful environment. The role is 11 hours per week across Friday and Saturday until Feb 2026.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Care: Greet and assist guests with signing in using the Market Membership System, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  • Data Collection: Collect accurate data for reporting (e.g., how many guests shopped) to support the operations and success of the market
  • Relationship Building: Develop a strong understanding of guests' diverse needs and foster a sense of trust, care, and connection with those experiencing vulnerability
  • De-escalation & Support: Use excellent communication skills to prevent and resolve challenging situations, and work closely with the team to identify guests who may need additional support
  • Safety & Risk Management: Ensure the safety of guests, volunteers, and staff by identifying and managing potential risks and applying conflict resolution strategies
  • Smooth Operations: Assist with general administration and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the market

What We’re Looking For:

  • A deep commitment to the OzHarvest cause and values
  • Experience in customer service, with a special focus on working with vulnerable communities
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage difficult situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Proactive, organised, and confident under pressure
  • Intermediate computer skills (iPad, printer, CCTV, etc.)
  • A current police check

Desirable:

  • NSW Security License
  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate
